Why Choose Sirih Adil
What a specialist can offer that a generalist cannot
When a pension matter has gone unresolved, it is rarely because the client lacked effort. It is because they lacked the right kind of help.

What working with Sirih Adil means in practice
Narrow focus, deep knowledge
We work only in pension and legacy law. This means our understanding of the Pension Act 1980, EPF Act 1991, and JPA administrative procedures is sustained and current — not refreshed only when a client asks.
Time shaped around you
Sessions run as long as they need to. We do not watch the clock. Where a matter needs to pause — because of health, travel, or the client's own reflection — it pauses without penalty.
Explained, not just advised
We believe clients are better served when they understand their own situation — not just when they have been told what to do. We take time to explain why, not only what.
Family-inclusive where appropriate
Adult children who wish to support an elderly parent are welcome. Spouses are encouraged to attend together. We structure the conversation to include whoever the client wants in the room.
Fixed, transparent fees
Every engagement has a stated fee agreed before work begins. No hourly billing ambiguity. No unexpected additions. If scope changes, we discuss it before proceeding — never after.
JPA and EPF correspondence handled
We manage all written communication with government bodies on behalf of the client. Clients do not need to navigate these processes alone or interpret official responses without context.
Expertise
A practice shaped by sustained attention to one area of law
Malaysian pension law does not receive the same legal commentary and case reporting as commercial law. Much of what governs civil servant pension administration operates through JPA internal guidelines that are not publicly published. Knowing how to navigate this — and what arguments are likely to be accepted — requires years of engagement with the actual process, not just familiarity with the legislation.
Our team has been working specifically in this area long enough to understand where errors typically arise, what documentation JPA requires to take a recalculation request seriously, and what the realistic range of outcomes looks like for different types of cases.
Areas of working knowledge
- Pension Act 1980 and its administrative applications
- EPF Act 1991 — nominations, withdrawals, and survivor provisions
- JPA service record documentation and review processes
- Pensionable service period calculation methodology
- Survivor pension entitlements under Malaysian law
- Wills Act 1959 and its interaction with EPF nominations
How a typical engagement proceeds
- 1.Initial call or email to understand your situation and which service is appropriate
- 2.Fee agreement sent in writing before any substantive work begins
- 3.Meeting scheduled at our office or by arrangement if travel is difficult
- 4.Documents reviewed; any gaps identified; plan of action discussed with client
- 5.Correspondence or file preparation carried out with client updated throughout
- 6.Written summary of outcome and any further steps provided to client
Process
A structure that removes uncertainty at every stage
One of the most common concerns older clients raise is not knowing what will happen next — or what something will cost. We have designed our engagements to address this directly: nothing moves forward without the client's knowledge and agreement.
We also keep our clients informed when a matter involves a government body's response timeline. JPA and EPF can take time to respond. We explain what is realistic and stay in contact so clients are never left wondering what is happening to their case.
Client Experience
The quality of the interaction matters as much as the outcome
Legal services for older clients often fail not on the law but on the experience. An older person who feels rushed, confused by jargon, or made to feel their question is too small is unlikely to leave a meeting with genuine clarity — regardless of what was technically communicated.
Our approach: we slow down, we repeat what matters, we confirm understanding in writing, and we make clear that returning with further questions is welcome, not an imposition.
Value
Fees that reflect a defined scope of work
All three of our services are offered at fixed prices. For a Spousal Pension Briefing (RM 360), both spouses receive a joint session and a written summary — the cost does not increase based on how many questions are asked. For Civil Servant Recalculation (RM 730), the fee covers the preparation and submission of the recalculation request; we discuss in advance whether the records appear to support a strong case.
The Legacy File (RM 985) is the most comprehensive engagement. It can be completed in a series of shorter sessions suited to the client's pace, with no additional charge for that flexibility.

What Makes Us Different
Distinctive features of Sirih Adil's practice
The Legacy File — unhurried, comprehensive
Our End-of-Life Pension and Legacy File service brings pension records, will, EPF nominations, and health-care preferences into one ordered file. No other firm in our experience offers this combination as a single structured engagement. The original is held by us; a duplicate goes to a trusted family member of the client's choosing.
Spousal sessions as a deliberate format
The Spousal Pension Briefing is designed around the reality that pension and survivor decisions affect two people but are typically explained to only one. We bring both partners into the same room, with the same information, and create space for both to ask questions.
Honest about what the records support
We review the service records before agreeing to submit a recalculation request. If we believe the records do not support a strong case for revision, we say so — rather than taking the fee and submitting something that is unlikely to succeed.
Work that can be paused and resumed
Our Legacy File engagement is designed to flex around the client's life. If health, family circumstance, or simply a need for reflection requires a pause, we accommodate that without penalty and resume when the client is ready.
