Our Services
Three ways we can help — each with a clear scope and a fixed fee
Sirih Adil offers three focused engagements designed around the most common situations our clients face. All are available to residents across Malaysia.

How we approach every engagement
Before any substantive work begins, we take the time to understand what the client actually needs — which is not always the same as what they initially ask for. A retired civil servant who calls about a pension discrepancy may, on further discussion, also need their EPF nomination reviewed and their will updated. We do not push scope expansion; we simply make sure the client is aware of the full picture.
Each service has a defined scope that we agree on in writing before work starts. Within that scope, we aim to be thorough rather than merely adequate. If we find something outside the original scope that the client should know about, we raise it separately — not as a way to increase the bill, but because our clients rely on us to keep an eye on the whole picture.
Listen and understand
We begin by listening carefully to the client's situation before recommending any service.
Agree in writing
Scope and fee are confirmed in writing before any work proceeds.
Work carefully and transparently
Every step is communicated to the client; nothing is done without their knowledge.
Confirm in writing
Outcomes, advice, and any next steps are summarised in a written document for the client to keep.
Service One
Spousal Pension Briefing
RM 360 — fixed fee, both spouses included
A respectful, two-person session for couples approaching retirement who wish to understand together how their pensions, EPF accounts, and eventual survivor benefits interact under Malaysian law. The firm walks both spouses through the relevant provisions and creates space for questions from either person.
Most couples arrive with a general sense that these matters are important but no clear picture of how they fit together. Many leave with a considerably clearer view — and a one-page written summary they can refer to afterwards.
What is included
- Joint session at our Kuala Lumpur office (or by video arrangement)
- Review of each spouse's pension and EPF position
- Explanation of survivor benefit rules under current Malaysian law
- Open question time for both spouses
- Written one-page summary of key points discussed
- Recommendation of any follow-up steps, with no obligation to proceed
Typical timeline
The session itself typically runs 90 minutes to two hours. The written summary is sent within three working days.
Who this is for
- • Couples within five years of retirement
- • Spouses of civil servants who have never fully understood the pension provisions
- • Couples who have recently had a health concern and want to review their financial position together
- • Couples who have never had a dedicated conversation about what happens financially when one spouse dies first
Who this is for
- • Retired civil servants who believe a service period was incorrectly excluded
- • Those whose pension was calculated on a salary grade that did not match their final appointment
- • Civil servants who were seconded to a statutory body and believe this affected their pensionable service
- • Family members assisting a deceased civil servant's estate
Service Two
Civil Servant Pension Recalculation
RM 730 — fixed fee, includes JPA correspondence
Patient legal work for retired Malaysian civil servants who believe their pension has been calculated on incorrect service-period or salary figures. We gather the relevant service records, review them against the pension calculation, and prepare a written request for review where the records support one.
We are candid at the outset about whether the records we can locate appear to support a recalculation request. If the case does not look strong, we say so rather than proceed and collect a fee for a request that is unlikely to succeed.
What is included
- Review of all available service records and pension letter
- Initial assessment of whether a recalculation request appears viable
- Preparation of formal written recalculation request to JPA
- All correspondence with JPA managed by the firm
- Client consultation before any escalation of the matter
- Written summary of outcome and copies of all correspondence
Typical timeline
Initial review and assessment: 2–4 weeks. JPA response: variable, typically 6–12 weeks after submission. We update the client throughout.
Service Three
End-of-Life Pension & Legacy File
RM 985 — comprehensive, flexible-pace engagement
A patient, comprehensive engagement that brings the client's pension records, will, EPF nominations, advance health-care preferences, and family memoranda into a single ordered legacy file. The work is unhurried and may pause and resume as the client's energy and circumstances allow.
The firm holds the original completed file in secure storage. A duplicate is provided to a trusted family member of the client's choice — and the client chooses who that is. We do not involve anyone the client has not specifically identified and consented to.
What is included
- Review and organisation of all pension-related documents
- Review and (where needed) updating of EPF nominations
- Will review and coordination with the client's preferred solicitor if required
- Advance health-care preferences recorded and included
- Family memoranda and instructions compiled
- Secure original file held by Sirih Adil; duplicate to nominated family member
- Work may proceed in multiple sessions at the client's own pace
Typical timeline
Most Legacy Files are completed across three to five sessions over two to three months, though there is no set timeline. The work proceeds as the client wishes.
Who this is for
- • Individuals aged 65 and above who wish to bring their affairs into order
- • Those recently diagnosed with a serious illness who want to act while they are well enough
- • Clients who feel their pension, will, and EPF arrangements have never all been in order at the same time
- • Adult children who wish to arrange this service as a gift of care for an elderly parent

What you can expect from every engagement
Privacy and data security
All documents shared with us are held in strict confidence. Digital records are access-controlled; physical files are stored securely. Nothing is shared without the client's explicit consent.
Malaysian Bar compliance
All work is conducted in accordance with the Legal Profession Act 1976 and the Malaysian Bar Council's professional standards. Our practising certificates are current.
Regular communication
Clients are updated at each stage of their matter. When we are waiting for a response from JPA or EPF, we communicate that — and what to expect next.
Next Step
Unsure which service fits? Let us help you decide.
A brief conversation about your situation is enough for us to suggest whether one of our services would be appropriate — or whether we are not the right fit. Either way, you will leave the conversation with a clearer picture.
